Hello Brothers and Sisters, I read the book “What to say when you talk to yourself by Shad Helmstetter. When recording affirmations do you recommend saying “I AM…” or do you recommend saying “I AM the kind of person that…” Glad to hear your opinions. Have a great day!
This is a very good question. When you record affirmations, there are 2 ways to record it.
The first way is to use the phrase YOU ARE.
The second way is to use the phrase I AM, but only when you say “Repeat after me, I am…”, thus giving you a chance to say out loud the affirmation in the first person “I am”. You must give a pause on the recording allowing time for you to repeat the phrase.
When you say “I am rich”, and you are NOT rich, you might not believe the statement and have resistance to it and doubt.
When you say “I am the kind (or type) of person that is rich”, you will believe that statement more readily.
So, start with “I am the kind (or type)” statements and then add in the “I am…” statements.
The key is to make sure you are making statements you do not forcefully reject either consciously or subconsciously.
